Nevada girls place third at Linda Bloom Invite

MARSHALLTOWN — The Nevada girls’ golf team took third at the Linda Bloom Invitational April 28 at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.

The Cubs shot a 209 over nine holes to trail just Newton (196) and Waukee (202) among nine scored teams. Nevada had four golfers shoot a 55 or better.

Claire Ausman led Nevada with a 46. That effort tied her with Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck’s Katie Ross for fourth overall behind Grinnell’s Alisha Ford (43) and Newton’s Cydney Hillyard (44) and Jessica Reynolds (45).

Chloe Davis came through with a 51, Brittny Bottorf carded a 55 and Mekenlie Jones added a 57 as the other scored golfers for Nevada. Mikaela Rans shot a 63 and Madison Abraham a 64 as the other Cub competitors at the meet.
