Annual Spirits in the Gardens event adds something new and over-the-top!

We’re adding something new and over-the-top to Spirits in the Gardens this year! You can see 500 amazing lit Jack-O-Lanterns!

Scare is in the air as Reiman Gardens’ Spirits in the Gardens event returns. All are welcome to join in the spooky fun by attending in costume. As part of a new, astounding display, see 500 carved pumpkins lit against the evening sky. Trick or treat at Reiman Gardens and make crafts. Join us for storytelling by Jerri Heid from the Ames Public Library and more. Come dressed in costume and have a bag to collect candy.


Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22 and 23

4-7 p.m: - Trick or treat

4-7 p.m: Crafts in the Garden Room

6:30-9 p.m: Jack-O-Lantern walk — 500 lit Jack-O-Lanterns

Reiman Gardens is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to “Educate, enchant and inspire an appreciation of plants, butterflies and the beauty of the natural world.” While at Reiman Gardens, visitors can enjoy the autumn-themed display in the Hughes Conservatory, stunning fall color and plantings outdoors, and shop at the Gift Shop.

No preregistration required. Spirits in the Gardens is a free event for all youth under age 18. Regular admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and free to all members and Iowa State University students with ISU card. In the event of inclement weather, all activities will be moved indoors.
