A Nevada police officer was arrested Tuesday, after deputies say she assaulted her domestic partner late last month.

Christine Elizabeth Rosen, 27, is charged with domestic assault, and two counts of obstruction of emergency communication.

According to the Story County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just after midnight Sunday, Oct. 23, at Rosen’s apartment on the 600 block of Academy Circle. From the investigation, deputies determined that a physical assault had taken place between Rosen and her domestic partner.

According to Story County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Barry Thomas, the domestic partner attempted to call for help on two occasions, and Rosen prevented her from doing so on both occasions.

As of Tuesday evening, Rosen had posted bail.

Her preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 14.

Rosen’s status with the Nevada Police Department wasn’t know late Tuesday, and efforts to contact Nevada Police Chief Ricardo Martinez were unsuccessful.

According to Thomas, if convicted, Rosen would lose her ability to carry a firearm.
