Additional 19 COVID-19 cases reported in Story County; State hospitalizations rising
An additional 19 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Story County by 10 a.m. Friday, the state's coronavirus website reported.
At that time, the website showed 3,925 individuals in Story County had tested positive for the virus — up from Thursday's total of 3,906. Of those, 3,423 had recovered, the state reported.
Overall, 18 people with COVID-19 in Story County have died, according to the state.
The state reported 536 COVID-19 hospitalizations Friday, up from 530 on Thursday.
COVID-19 is the respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus.
Story County's 14-day average positivity rate is 6.2%, the state reported Friday. To date, a total of 33,082 Story County residents have been tested for the virus.
Across the state, another 23 people with COVID-19 have died in Iowa and there have been an additional 1,581 confirmed cases, the state reported Friday.
At 10 a.m. Friday, the state was reporting 1,617 COVID-19-related deaths in Iowa. 112,555 confirmed cases were being reported statewide.
Of the people who have tested positive, 86,527 have recovered, according to the state. The total number of people tested is 112,555.
