The Midtown Market begins Tuesday, June 7, and continues weekly through Aug. 9. The market takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Nevada City Hall parking lot.

Opening night of the market (June 7) will feature a ribbon cutting at 5:15 p.m.; a performance by Neil Hewitt, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Clock Tower Park; a bounce house provided by the Nevada Fire Association; children’s coloring activities; drawings and giveaways; and a firetruck and Community Service Officer vehicle on display. There will also be a Chamber Ambassadors Pie and Ice Cream Social at the Nevada Senior Community Center. The rain date for this event is Tuesday, June 21.

There are currently eight vendors, including three produce vendors with eggs, meat and fresh produce, three craft vendors with everything from children’s clothes and accessories to jewelry and textile designs, a vendor serving refreshing shaved ice and a BBQ vendor with delicious sandwiches and meals.

If your service club or organization would like to hold a fundraiser or share an activity for children and families, contact the Chamber office at 382-6538 for information. The Chamber is also looking for people who would like to perform at the Midtown Market – singers, dancers, musicians – between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The Nevada Community Band will be performing at the Midtown Market at 7 p.m., beginning on June 14. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs to City Hall and enjoy the wonderful music during and after visiting the market.
