A Day for Coach

A Day for Coach

Remember those last couple weeks of school in Nevada? It was so nice out and everyone was invited to ride their bikes to school. The reason being — Nevada elementary physical education teacher, Bill Kellogg (affectionately known to all as “Coach”) was taking everyone on a bike ride. Long before riding your bike was considered the cool thing to do, this time of the year as the days were being counted down, it was something to look forward to. Last Saturday, former students, teachers and friends gathered at Central Elementary for a bike ride of sorts. Almost 100 turned out to wish Coach well and take one more bike ride with him. When asked which direction to go, Coach said with a smile, “The same way we always go.” Before the ride everyone gathered for a group photo, made possible by the Nevada Fire and Rescue Department. Thanks, Coach, for all the great memories, the caring and direction you led your “charges” on riding their bikes around Nevada in those last few days of school each year. A memory that few will forget.
