Sharma excels at Iowa State

Kiran Sharma of Nevada has been named a 2016 “Student Sensation” by the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences. Sharma, a senior in kinesiology and health, is passionate about kinesiology, dance, and service, and balances them all well. The certified nursing assistant and biology teaching assistant also gives back to Iowa State through the Honors Program. You may catch her in action as a program ambassador or while teaching a freshman honors seminar. While serving as secretary of the Pre-Medical Professions Club, she performs medical examinations on public safety officers from all over Iowa as a kinesiology research assistant. Outside of research, she also shows her love for her major as an accomplished dancer with Orchesis 1 Dance Company and choreographer for the DubH Hip Hop Club. Sharma is among 15 students selected for the honor in 2016. Sensations are selected by Iowa State’s Human Sciences Student Council through a competitive process and are recognized by the dean’s office. Those selected are held up as role models for others to emulate.
