Luther College senior Emma Cassabaum will present her senior project, “Predisposition,” in conjunction with fellow senior Maggie Sulentic at 7:30 p.m., May 7-8, in the Storre Theater, located on the Luther campus.

The performance, open to the public with no charge for admission, was written by Cassabaum, directed by Sulentic, co-produced by the two seniors and will be acted out by Sulentic and a cast of two.

“Predisposition,” a play about the bonds of family, portrays the struggles of a daughter and granddaughter dealing with the failing memory of the family matriarch. Tensions and grudges arise as they attempt to navigate their collective past, individual memories and possibilities of a shared future in the face of disease.

Cassabaum, the daughter of Steven and Michelle Cassabaum of Nevada, will graduate in May with a degree in English. She plans to live and work in Des Moines before pursuing a graduate degree in English; she hopes to obtain her Ph.D. to teach at the collegiate level. She is a 2012 graduate of Nevada High School.
