United Way of Story County Campaign tops $2.1 million

Jonathan Wickert, United Way of Story County (UWSC) 2015 LIVE UNITED campaign chair, announced $2,118,612 has been raised through the annual campaign, an amount which is $18,000 over goal and sets a new record. The announcement was made at the Campaign Celebration on Dec. 10.

Wickert thanked everyone for a successful campaign. “The generosity of those who live and work in Story County is apparent from this announcement,” said Wickert. “Special thanks to the many organizations and volunteers who made this possible. Gifts of all sizes truly do make a difference. Each person doing what they can to help others is what it means to LIVE UNITED.”

UWSC donors support initiatives that meet the needs of more than 30,000 people in Story County in the areas of education, income and health.

Campaign Director Kristin Pates also expressed gratitude. “Thank you for giving, advocating and volunteering so that our community can continue to LIVE UNITED.”

Division volunteers brought in record numbers at many businesses, on campus, with retiree groups and community campaigns. The Nevada division raised $114,828. UWSC Campaign Director Kristin Pates worked with more than 200 volunteers who were actively involved with the campaign. The Nevada campaign was led by the 2015 Nevada Campaign Cabinet, which included: Jon Augustus, Vicki Barker, Loyd Brown, Neal Bohnet, Mark Cahill, Sara Clausen (co-chair), Wayne Clinton, Ros Dunblazier, Steve Gray, Rick Hugdahl, Carmi Olson, Carolyn and Ralph Manning, Adam Riedell, Leah and Robb Schmidt, Carolyn and Ken Shaw, Renee Twedt (co-chair) and David Weber.

Yvonne Kinzler, 2015 leadership chair, was introduced as the 2015 campaign chair, along with Dan Culhane as the 2015 leadership assistant.
