It is that time of year again - to bake holiday cookies!

The Nevada Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to donate holiday cookies and candies for the 2015 Winter Festival Cookie Parade.

On Friday, Dec. 11, there will be a theater performance at 7 p.m. so the cookie parade will open at 5 p.m. and last until after the performances. The Cookie Parade will also be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, while supplies last.

There will be a lot of traffic at Gates Hall because it is going to be held during the Festival of Trees and Breakfast with Santa. Cookies ran out last year at 10:30 a.m.

This is a Chamber fundraiser. New larger purple buckets can be purchased for $9 to parade through and pick out a variety of holiday baked goods to give to family, neighbors and friends. If people return with their red buckets, then the charge is only $8.50 to fill them up.

The Chamber will be giving $50 in chamber bucks to the person with the best decorated cookies (10 dozen is a minimum requirement and four dozen of which shall be the same variety). Cookies and individual holiday treats need to be dropped off on Friday, Dec. 11, by noon at Gates Hall. You can enter your cookies into the contest there.

Please sign up immediately by calling the Chamber at 382-6538 to let us know if we can count on you to donate cookies/treats this year and how many dozen we can expect.
