Heartland Senior Services welcomes all cribbage players, as well as those who are interested in learning the game, to our next Cribbage Night, Saturday, Jan. 9, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at HSS, 205 S Walnut, Ames. Mexican Train Dominoes

Come join us on Monday, Jan. 11, at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. Ames and play Mexican Train Dominoes at 1 p.m.

Monthly Dance

The Heartland Senior Services Winter Dance will be from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Moose Family Center, North U.S. Highway 69 and West 190th St. in Ames. Kenny Frette and the Country Classic Band will perform. Admission is $6 each and all are welcome. Sponsorship for the dance is provided by Bethany Life. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

Lunch & Learn

Join us for our monthly Lunch and Learn at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. Ames. Mike Fritz, executive director at Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance Inc., will share information about the agency and the services provided to residents in Story County. Friday Afternoon Cards

Enjoy playing cards bridge or 500? Come join us at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave in Ames on Friday afternoons at 12:45 p.m.. Cost is $3.

Heartland Senior Center Trivia Night

Heartland Senior Services’ next Community Trivia Night will be Friday, Jan. 22, at City Church (formerly Oakwood Rd Church), 2400 Oakwood Rd. in Ames. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m., with trivia starting at 6:30.

Teams of five to eight people compete to answer questions about topics such as sports, movies, history, geography, and current events. Each team is invited to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy throughout the night. Everyone must play; no spectators please. Cost is $12 per person to play, with cash prizes for the top three teams. Door prizes from local businesses will also be awarded at the conclusion of the game.

The proceeds from the evening help Heartland Senior Services continue to provide needed county-wide programs for seniors administered through adult day care, activities, nutrition (congregate and home-delivered meals), and outreach.
