Holiday Luncheon

Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave., in Ames will host its Holiday Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16. Reservations are required by calling 515-233-2906 as space is limited.

The menu will include: herbed roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, roasted winter vegetables, grape fruit cup, roll, holiday fruit crisp with whipped cream, coffee and water. Enjoy the festival piano music by Marilyn Johnson. A special thank-you is extended to the Ames Noon Kiwanis for volunteering at the luncheon.

Bunco

Come join us on Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 1-2:30 p.m. and play Bunco. Bunco is a dice game played with four people per table. Enjoy the fun – anyone can play! No previous experience is needed. Prizes will be given for the most games, most buncos and least games. Cost per person is $3. If you are interested in playing, please contact Heartland Senior Services at 515-233-2906.

Jazz Jam

Heartland’s Jazz Jam will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. Enjoy listening to a variety of music including holiday songs. Country Jam

Heartland Senior Services will host Country Jam from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, at 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. All are invited to come and enjoy good music and visit with friends. Admission is $3. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

Movie - “Christmas Vacation”

Sit back, relax a bit from the holiday rush and enjoy this popular holiday movie, “Christmas Vacation” on Monday, Dec. 21, at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames starting at 12:30 p.m. The movie is free and popcorn and refreshments will be provided. Clark Griswold wants to have a perfect family Christmas so he pesters his wife and children to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations - but things go awry in a hurry.
