Seniors on Sixth

Dee Monson

I hope you all had a most blessed and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. We certainly enjoyed being with family and watching lots of Iowa sports on TV.

I guess now it is time to get into the Christmas spirit. I started yesterday by going to the Center to take down all of our Fall decorations and replace them with Christmas table displays. We will complete the transition to the holiday spirit at our potluck on the 14th. Jack O’Leary will be returning to the Center to favor us with a variety of Christmas music. He was certainly a crowd favorite last year when he played and sang for us. As an additional treat this year, I have invited Karen Ralston to sing a couple special numbers with Jack. If you have not been able to attend a potluck recently, I hope you will make a special effort to join us as we prepare for Christmas.

I have reserved the Center for the evening of December 10th for anyone who wishes to watch the Iowa vs. Iowa State men’s basketball game. The schedule tells me that it will start at 6:30 and be carried on ESPN 2. If you enjoy basketball, but do not have cable TV, you are welcome to join us to watch the game on our new 65-inch TV. We may have to divide the room between Hawkeyes and Cyclones!
