Seniors on Sixth

Dee Monson

I told you last week that I would give you the details about our “ladies day out” event on Dec. 2. I recently read a couple newspaper articles about the new bakery called “Susie Q’s Goodies,” located at North Grand Mall, so one day I stopped in for a bowl of soup, homemade dinner roll and a delicious pastry. While sitting there admiring the wonderful array of baked goods and how welcoming her little bakery was, I decided that it would be a lot more fun to be there with a group of friends. I asked Shelley, the owner, about bringing a group, and she said we would be welcome any time and could even let her know what kind of “soup of the day” we would like her to prepare.

So, we have set Monday, Dec. 2, as the day for ladies from Nevada to visit “Susie Q’s Goodies” for soup and your choice of any of those wonderful homemade pastries. I bet she would also fix you up with a box to take home. The day I was there a lady came in said, “I just don’t bake anymore” and just kept adding another one to her box of goodies.

We will meet at the Center at 11 a.m. and car pool to Ames. Several of us will drive, so if some ladies want to stay and shop for a little while and others want to return home we can accommodate both.

I do need to have an approximate number of how many ladies plan to go, so please stop by the Center and add your name to the list or call me so I can count you in, 382-2891.
