COLO - The Colo-NESCO girls’ basketball team looked strong in its first game back from the holidays Jan. 7, posting a 69-47 victory over Tripoli.


The Royals shot 50 percent from the field with six 3-pointers on offense. They added 11 steals on defense and also pulled down 36 rebounds to win their seventh-straight game and improve to 7-2 on the season.


Colo-NESCO led 30-19 at the half. The Royals took complete control in the third quarter, outscoring the Panthers 23-10 to build an insurmountable 24-point cushion.


Lauryn Hill had a big night with 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the field and nine assists. Rylee Purvis put up 10 points, nine rebounds and one block, Gracie Kettwig 10 points and five boards, Ayvarie Bappe nine points with three 3-pointers and Emmy Hostetler eight points, seven rebounds, four assists and a block.


McKenzie Niemeyer added four points and steals apiece and Jenna Banks four points and three assists. Emma Stalzer scored two points, pulled down five rebounds and blocked one shot.
