GARWIN - The Colo-NESCO volleyball team earned its second Iowa Star Conference South Division victory of the season with a sweep over GMG Oct. 1.
The Royals won a pair of 25-22 battles over the Wolverines in the first two sets. Then they dominated the third, 25-16, to improve to 2-2 in the conference and 4-11 overall.
Colo-NESCO hammered down 28 kills against only 13 attack errors. The Royals also went 69 of 73 serving with seven aces and had six blocks.
Emmy Hostetler delivered seven kills and two blocks and Ayvarie Bappe, Jenna Hill and Gracie Kettwig each finished with five kills for Colo-NESCO. Bappe also recorded two assists, Hill one dig and block apiece and Kettwig two blocks and an ace.
Megan Carlson handed out 17 assists. She also had four kills, seven digs and one block and went 15 of 15 serving.
Megan Hulshizer and Morgan Sluis each contributed four digs in the back row. Hulshizer also had one kill.
McKenzie Niemeyer went 23 of 25 serving with two aces and added one dig and Rylee Purvis finished with four aces and one kill. Izabell Voelker chipped in one dig for the Royals.
