COLO - The Colo-NESCO volleyball team didn’t have any solutions for a North Tama squad ranked No. 4 in Class 1A Sept. 26 at Colo.

The Royals were swept by scores of 25-11, 25-17 and 25-16 in falling to 3-11 on the season and 1-2 in the Iowa Star Conference South Division.

Colo-NESCO recorded 19 kills and 15 errors in the match. The Royals had four blocks and went 42 of 46 serving, but didn’t pick up an ace.

Ayvarie Bappe had six kills and Jenna Hill, Emmy Hostetler, Gracie Kettwig and Rylee Purvis three apiece for the Royals. Bappe added one assist, Hill two digs, Kettwig two blocks and Purvis six digs and one block.

Megan Carlson delivered 14 assists, four digs and one block and McKenzie Niemeyer nine digs and one kill for the Royals. Megan Hulshizer chipped in five digs, Izabell Voelker three assists and Morgan Sluis one dig.

TAMA - Colo-NESCO earned its first Iowa Star Conference South Division victory of the season with a sweep of Meskwaki Sept. 24.

The Royals downed the Warriors by scores of 25-9, 25-21, 25-18 to improve to 1-1 in the ISC South Division and 3-10 overall.

Colo-NESCO had a strong attack with 24 kills against just 10 errors. The Royals also did a great job serving the ball, finishing the night with 15 digs.

Megan Carlson tallied 12 assists, five aces and three kills for Colo-NESCO. Gracie Kettwig had seven kills and two aces, Emmy Hostetler five kills, Ayvarie Bappe three kills and Rylee Purvis two kills and five aces.

Jenna Hill put up two kills and three aces and McKenzie Niemeyer two kills. Megan Hulshizer led the Royals in the back row with seven digs.
