STORY CITY — The Colo-NESCO boys’ basketball team couldn’t stop a bombardment of 3-pointers by Roland-Story in a 75-42 loss to the Norsemen Saturday in Story City.


Roland-Story drilled 15 3-pointers and also posted a 37-17 rebounding advantage, dropping Colo-NESCO to 2-16 on the season. The Norsemen led 34-19 at the half, went up 22 after three quarters and ended the game on a 20-9 run.


The Royals shot 43 percent from the field. They also made six 3-pointers.


Francis Bower had 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals and Trevor Burg 12 points for the Royals. Jack McKinney tacked on seven points and Kelly Gray four points, seven assists and four rebounds.


Kade Faga led Roland-Story with 20 points. Dylan Matheason added 16 points, five rebounds and five assists; Carter Greenfield 12 points and Adam McIlrath 10 points and six rebounds.

COLO — Colo-NESCO had a rough first half against AGWSR in a 54-29 loss to the Cougars Friday at Colo.


AGWSR used a big second quarter to take a 33-15 lead at the half. The Royals hung tough in the third quarter, but sputtered offensively down the stretch, falling to 2-15.


Francis Bower had eight points, eight rebounds and three assists for Colo-NESCO. Kelly Gray added five points, two assists and two steals; Jack McKinney four points, four rebounds and two assists; Trevor Burg three points and four rebounds and Keaton Schultz three points and rebounds apiece.


AGWSR improved to 10-7. Alex Hames had 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists and Tanner Weichers 16 points and six rebounds for the Cougars.
