To the editor:
Thank you, Nevada Journal, for informing us about leadership and accomplishments by Nevada residents, be it the Food for Thought program, 10-year-old Tyler Wirtz mileage club feat or the dedicated folks who make the Story County Fair an annual celebration. I especially appreciated notice in the last issue regarding the vigil supporting families caught up in our immigration debacle along our southern border. Separating children from parents, for-profit concentration camps and withholding basic needs as policy are truly crimes against humanity. The gathering at the Story County Justice Center last Friday evening gave me hope. We greeted one another with “I’m glad you are here.” And “I love you.” We listened to folks who articulated our grief and outrage at the trauma inflicted in the name of the United States of America. And we stood up and said no to that.
