To the editor:
If you have ever eaten at Mi Casita, then you’ve probably encountered the kind and gentle man name Francisco Fuentes. Whenever I dined there, he always made sure everything was OK, from the food that was prepared to how we were doing. “Everything OK, senorita?” he would ask me, a woman well over 40 years old and long past “senorita” age! When donations of salsa were needed for concessions or different nacho meals, he always gave generously. He also shared gift certificates to Mi Casita for Chuck-A-Duck fundraisers and other raffle and silent auction events. He was patient with my attempts to speak Spanish, and he would always help in whatever way necessary to make sure my experiences at Mi Casita were enjoyable.
Now, Francisco needs our help as he heals from a severe car accident that crushed his spleen and has left him unable to return to work. On Sunday, April 7, from 7 to 10 a.m., there will be a Flapjacks for Francisco fundraiser at Gatherings in Nevada. Will you please consider attending this free-will donation event? If you would like to donate but are unable to attend on April 7, donations may be dropped off at State Bank and Trust in Nevada, located at 1025 Sixth St. Please write checks to Francisco Fuentes Benefit Fund.
Thank you for your time and consideration, and I hope we all reach out and help Francisco with his medical bills and loss of wages during his time of need.
