The Nevada Community Resource Center (NCRC) extends gratitude to the Nevada community and surrounding areas for their partnership in enhancing child and family well-being. This combined effort not only provides assistance to the families that are served, but greatly enhances the NCRC activities and program requirements. Funding and support received by Nevada Community Schools, city of Nevada, Department of Human Services, Key Coop/Land O’Lakes (milk grant), service organizations, area churches and individual community member donations continue to assist in program development and opportunities.

Although the NCRC’s primary focus is child care programming, preparations are underway for the 2018 Angel Tree Program. Last year, through the generosity of this community and other area businesses and organizations, over 330 children received wants and needs that especially included warm winter clothing. If you are in need of this service or would like to provide for a child, please note the dates and following information.

This year, forms were emailed to the families of all Nevada students. It was stated that if your child qualified for the Angel Tree Program, the online form needed to be submitted by Friday, Oct. 19. If you would like to help a local child, angels will be available on Monday, Nov. 12, at the Chamber of Commerce, 1015 Sixth St. or the NCRC, 1037 Eighth St. It is very important that you leave your name and phone number on the provided sheet next to the angel that you have chosen. Please return all purchased, unwrapped gifts to the NCRC by Monday, Dec. 3. Although this program is offered only during the holiday season, we do accept monetary donations all year. Simply make your checks payable to the “NCRC Angel Tree Fund.”

Again, thank you for your continued support to the NCRC and the programs that strive to meet the needs of the children and families that are served. If you have any questions or would like more information regarding our services, please contact the NCRC at 515-382-1600.
