Megan Pringnitz, FFA president, called the banquet to order as the officer team went through the official opening ceremony on Monday, March 10, in Gates Hall. This year’s main course was prepared by Jeff and Anita Westphal, and consisted of smoked pulled pork and pork loins, gourmet jalapeno and onion sautéed baked beans, homemade coleslaw, chips and lemonade. A chocolate brownie cake a la mode was prepared by Charlie and Christine Lloyd.

The bronze Greenhand pin was presented to 31 new members. The silver Chapter Degree medal was awarded to 23 members. In addition to the treasury report by Henry Corbin, Bill Couser presented the chapter with a check for $1,500 for fruit and hay purchased. Members were presented awards for contest and volunteerism awards. Contest awards included livestock judging, equine and soils judging, and also leadership career development contest.

Adults and community members were recognized for their donations and contributions, they are as follows: Gerald "Bob" Davis family, Bill Couser, Rick Hawbaker of the Van Wall Group, Lori Arends, Mark Henry, Patrick Sheets, Komer Johnson, Jeff and Jim Collins, Samantha Bissel of Heartland Cooperative, David Stensland, Lyle Stahl, Dr. Paul and Marsha Readhead, and Justin Gross, Nevada High School principal.

The banquet concluded with an iMovie, comprised of video and photos of the chapter’s activities. Mr. Kevin Cooper is the Nevada FFA advisor.
