The Iowa Department of Public Health announced two more confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Story County on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 22.
One of the patients is between the ages of 18 and 40, while the other individual is between the ages of 41 and 60.
Steve Sullivan, a spokesperson for Mary Greeley Medical Center, confirmed the two additional cases and said one of the patients was tested at Mary Greeley, while the other was tested at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.
As of Thursday, 511 Story County residents had been tested for the novel coronavirus, and of the 22 confirmed cases, 13 people had fully recovered.
Gov. Kim Reynolds announced in her daily news conference on Thursday that statewide, 179 new cases of COVID-19 were reported along with six deaths. There have been 3,924 confirmed cases of the virus in Iowa, which have resulted in 96 deaths.
Throughout the state, 29,262 Iowans have been tested for the virus and of the nearly 4,000 cases confirmed by the state, 1,492 patients have fully recovered, according to the Department of Public Health.
