A luncheon and silent auction will be held this Saturday in honor of Jeff Badger at Indian Creek Golf Club (260th Street) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The proceeds will be used by Stephanie Badger and her children to help offset incurred expenses from the loss of Jeff this past March.
The Badger family has lived in Nevada for 8 1/2 years. Stephanie is active on the Nevada fire department as an EMT, Treasurer, Secretary, and Rehab Coordinator. She is involved at Cornerstone Church in Ames by serving on the safety team. In her spare time, Stephanie has given back to the community by volunteering at Cubbies Cupboard, serving on the Nevada’s Chambers Board of Directors, Nevada Betterment Committee, and Main Street Nevada Committee.
A freewill donation for the chili, hotdog and baked potato meal is requested. Several items donated by local and area businesses are included in the silent auction. Bidding will run from 11:00am-12:30pm and it is requested that winners be present to take their items home with them.
Representatives from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and Celebrate Recovery (Cornerstone Church) will offer brief presentations on mental health.
More information may be found on Facebook the Badger Memorial Fundraiser page. The page includes a partial list of silent auction items as well as a link for online donations.
