Work has begun this week at the Nevada High School softball field. According to Nevada Schools Superintendent Dr. Steve Gray, “When we previously did the field renovations, we didn’t have time to tile the outfield before the start of the 2018 season (only the infield). We scheduled the outfield tile for after the season last year, but the weather prevented it so we pushed it back a year. They are now adding the tile to the outfield so it will drain better.” The drain tile will be cut in, he explained, then the area will be bedded with gravel, the surface will be leveled, and sod will be installed as the final part of the project.
