Local songstress Sandy Clark is back at The Talent Factory in Nevada with her fourth-annual Christmas show at 7 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 8.

A holiday show appropriate for the whole family, Clark is singing holiday jazz, as well as contemporary and traditional songs that are American standards.

“I’ll be singing some favorites, like ‘White Christmas,’ the old Bing Crosby song,” Clark said. “We’ll also do ‘Santa Baby,’ ‘What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?’ and ‘My Favorite Things,’ from ‘Sound of Music.’”

Sandy’s husband Chris will join her in some duets, and will also perform some Michael Bublé arrangements.

“Chris and I are singing quite a few songs together, like ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside,’” she said. “Our duets are always a crowd-pleaser.”

Sandy Clark has been singing since she was “knee-high to a grasshopper,” she said. “I’ve been singing as long as I can remember vocalizing.”

A shy child in elementary school, Clark wasn’t always comfortable in front of an audience. She started to come out of her shell a bit when she started performing in musicals in high school, “but I was still an introverted person at that point,” she said.

She joined some church choirs, which gave her more performance experience.

And when she met Chris, their shared love of music and singing helped her blossom into the confident performer that now takes the stage.

“Singing is something I wish I could do more of,” she said. “But when I’m on stage, I try to really live in that moment and appreciate it.”

Tickets to Clark’s Christmas show are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. They can be purchased at www.iowatalentfactory.com.
