The verdict is in.
The corner by McDonald’s in Nevada — 19th Street and South B — is busy enough that a four-way stop is recommended. City Engineer Larry Stevens announced it at the May 29 Nevada City Council meeting, saying a study has been completed.
“We forwarded a memo to the district office of the DOT (Department of Transportation),” he said, and DOT officials are in support of a four-way stop and now must put it through their formal approval process.
Once their formal approval is received, Stevens said the city council will need to discuss the corner more in detail, as there will be some cost involved in it. He said it will likely involve more than just stop signs. Medians may be needed as well as other work.
