Charlie’s Angels and the Hotel Pattee present “Breathing Life into the Future” on Saturday, April 21, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Hotel Pattee.

Charlotte Hugunin, AKA “Charlie,” is a 4-year-old who battles daily to breathe as she fights cystic fibrosis (CF). She is the daughter of Tim and Jenny Hugunin of Norwalk. CF is a life-threatening genetic lung and digestive disease that causes heavy mucus in her lungs, pancreas and other organs — 300,00 Americans are fighting this disease every single day of their lives. With current advances in medications and treatments, the age expectancy has now been raised to 47 years old. Charlie does hours of airway clearance treatments, nebulizer treatments, vitamins and enzymes for every meal. About 30,000 people are living with CF.

When Charlie Hugunin was born four years ago with cystic fibrosis, her family and friends stepped up to the plate and formed “Charlie’s Angels.” Charlie’s Angels is a fundraising team that raises the needed money to fund a research for a cure at the University of Iowa Hospital.

This year marks the second time for this event at the Hotel Pattee. The event showcases an extensive silent auction of artwork, along with several other special items, such as autographed Iowa State University football and basketball items and autographed books from several Iowa authors.

Dueling Musicians, Mike and Andy, are back by popular demand. If you haven’t seen this pair, you really don’t want to miss this wonderful night filled with the music and antics the pair present.

New this year will be the opportunity to purchase a red, white or blue cork to win some red or white wine and some favorite Iowa brews.

Food will be provided by the Hotel Pattee.

With your continued support, we are able to help fund the research for a cure. Charlie’s Angels will not stop fundraising until CF stands for Cure Found.
