We appreciated Nick Dahlke, and his assistant Amanda, coming to the Center last week to give flu shots. They stayed and joined our group for potluck, and later to present our program.
Because there has been much advertising lately about the new shingles vaccine,Dahlke talked about that specifically. The vaccine that we received many years ago is not as effective as the new Shingrix . However, this one requires two injections that are two or three months apart. It is currently in very short supply. Nick said if you wish to be vaccinated, you should get your name on a waiting list either at NuCara or your doctor’s office.
Because several ladies told me that they could not attend the day I showed the movie “The Book Club,” I am going to show it again on Monday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. Please pass this word to friends who may want to attend.
Speaking about movies, we had 28 people come to watch the Christian movie “I Can Only Imagine” last Wednesday. If you haven’t seen this wonderful movie. you are welcome to borrow the DVD which we have for loan at the Center. We also have the book available to check out. I will put a sign-out sheet with them.
I just came from a delicious waffle breakfast at the Center. It was fun to have coffee and conversation with friends.
