Have you ever wanted to try snowshoeing? Story County Conservation has the perfect opportunity for you to get some exercise snowshoeing, enjoy nature and eat delicious soup!

Bundle up and join naturalist Emily Herring as you brave the cold on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5:30–7:30 p.m., at McFarland Park for a snowshoe hike and soup dinner. The evening will consist of a brief snowshoeing tutorial, followed by a naturalist-led snowshoe hike, and time to explore McFarland Park on your own. Complete the evening with a warm bowl of soup at the conservation center.

Participants should wear clothes and shoes that are appropriate for the weather and must weigh at least 40 lbs. Participants under the age of 18 must have an accompanying adult. The registration fee of $12 per person includes snowshoes, instruction and soup supper. Participants must register and pay the fee by 4 p.m. on Feb. 20. Snowshoes are limited, so register early!
