Ozbun is medalist with season-best round of 38
COLO – The Colo-Nesco boys’ golf team came in second in a triangular meet with Ankeny Christian Academy and Grandview Park Baptist Friday at the Twin Anchors Golf Course.
The Royals shot a 192 as a team over nine holes. Ankeny Christian Academy won with a 184 and Grandview Park Baptist was a distant third with a 285.
"I felt the boys did their best and came up a little short, which speaks well for the team since we were missing some of our varsity players, due to a trip and sickness. I’m proud of the way the younger ones stepped up and gave the team their best."
Colo-Nesco produced the top two individual performers at the meet in Cole Ozbun and Zack Risdal. Ozbun was the medalist with a 38, which was the best round of any Royal golfer on the season, and Risdal carded a 41 as medalist-runner-up.
Isaiah Texeira and Jacob Hapes were the other scored Colo-Nesco golfers. Texeira shot a 49 and Hapes finished with a 68.
Final team scores (nine holes): 1. Ankeny Christian Academy 184, 2. Colo-Nesco 192, 3. Grandview Park Baptist 285.

STATE CENTER – Colo-Nesco took third in a triangular meet with West Marshall and East Marshall May 7 at the Lincoln Valley Golf Course.
The Royals shot a 214 over nine holes. West Marshall and East Marshall both shot a 177 on the day.
Isaiah Texeira led Colo-Nesco with a 48. Cole Ozbun finished with a 51, Zack Risdal carded a 54 and Austin Key ended up with a 61.
Final team scores (nine holes): 1. West Marshall 177, 2. East Marshall 177, 3. Colo-Nesco 214.
