CEDAR FALLS — The Colo-NESCO volleyball team pulverized Valley Lutheran in the first set, and kept right on rolling in a sweep over the Crusaders Sept. 18 at Cedar Falls.


The Royals posted a 25-9 victory in the opening set. They also won easily in the next two, 25-15 and 25-16, to push their record to 5-13 on the season.


Colo-NESCO only had seven attack errors in 55 attacks. The Royals racked up 30 kills to record an impressive .418 kill-efficiency rate.


Megan Carlson turned in a terrific night at setter for Colo-NESCO. Carlson handed out 23 assists and also delivered six kills, two digs and one ace.


Emmy Hostetler led Colo-NESCO in kills with seven. She also had three aces and one block.


Rylee Purvis and Lindsey Riese put up five kills apiece for the Royals. Purvis also had four aces, three digs and two assists and Riese three aces and one dig.


Maggie Barten recorded four kills and two digs and Gracie Kettwig three kills, seven aces and one dig. Emma Sarver added six digs and two assists and Lauryn Hill two digs and one assist.
