The Nevada boys’ golf team had two players recently named all-state in Class 3A by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association.


Junior Dylan Sporrer and sophomore Kyle Linder both made the 3A second team after helping Nevada place second as a team at the 3A boys’ state golf meet at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge this past May. Another Cub — freshman Caden Jones — made the 3A all-tournament second team after tying for sixth-place individually with a 36-hole score of 156.


The 3A boys’ all-state first team was comprised of: Grinnell’s Lucas Scherf, Gilbert’s Tommy Doyle, Atlantic’s Ben Renaud and Matt Gearhart, MOC-Floyd Valley’s Trenton DeHaan and Justin Schipper, Adel-Desoto-Minburn’s Micah Moyer, Oskaloosa’s Spencer Tucker, Spencer’s Ezra Meyer, Glenwood’s Colton Book and Pella’s Trey Wood.


The 3A all-tournament first team members were Scherf, Moyer, Meyer, Ballard’s Noah Hartman and Central DeWitt’s Tucker Kinney and Rielly McGranahan.
