NEVADA - The Ballard and North Polk boys’ golf teams came in third and fourth respectively at the Nevada coed quadrangular meet April 5 at the Indian Creek Country Club in Nevada.


Ballard shot a 346 over 18 holes and North Polk scored a 366. Nevada easily won the meet with a 306 and Adel-Desoto-Minburn took second with a 331.


Noah Hartman was the top individual golfer for Ballard with a fourth-place overall score of 77. Hartman shot a 40 on the front and a 37 on the back nine.


Gannon Manfull and Alex Bangs each finished with an 85 for the Bombers. Manfull turned in rounds of 45 and 40 and Bangs shot a 39 and a 46.


Spencer Catus was the final scored Ballard golfer with a 99. Catus had rounds of 48 and 51.


Robert Klunder scored a 102 with rounds of 50 and 52 and Isaac Schafbuch a 104 with a 51 and a 53 as the other two varsity competitors for Ballard.


Ty Frangenberg led North Polk individually with an eighth-place overall score of 83. Frangenberg shot a 42 on the front and a 41 on the back.


Dennis Sean Elwell carded a 92 with rounds of 47 and 45 for the Comets. Andrew Vincent shot a 95 with rounds of 49 and 46 and Noah Fiori turned in rounds of 51 and 45 to score a 96 as the final scored Comet golfer.


Drake Johnson just missed the scoring cut for North Polk after shooting rounds of 49 and 48 to finish with a 97. Brendan Bayeur also golfed varsity for the Comets, shooting a 106 with rounds of 55 and 51.


Nevada’s Kyle Linder was the boys’ medalist at the meet with a 75. The Cubs’ Dylan Sporrer and Cam Shill each shot a 76 to place second and third respectively.
