WATERLOO - The Colo-NESCO girls’ basketball team overwhelmed Waterloo Christian for three quarters in a 61-25 victory Friday at Waterloo.


The Royals took a 35-13 lead at the half, then outscored the Regents by 14 points in the third quarter to slam the door. The win put Colo-NESCO at 8-1 overall.


Colo-NESCO racked up an amazing 29 steals defensively. The Royals also made seven 3-pointers and went a solid 16 of 24 from the free-throw line.


Faith Vincent had a great all-around game for Colo-NESCO in the win. She put up 21 points, eight steals and seven assists.


Rylee Purvis added 11 points, six steals, four assists and four rebounds for the Royals. Molly Barten had 10 points, five rebounds, four steals and one block; Emma Stalzer eight points and five rebounds and Chelsea Henze four points, six steals and two assists.
