The Nevada High School Dance Team competed at state competition this month and did very well. The team received a division 2 rating (only 0.375 away from division 1) and sixth place overall for their jazz routine; and a division 1 rating, and eighth place and ninth place respectively, on both contemporary and lyrical. According to coach Jenny Adelmund, they only place and announce the top three to five in each category with trophies, “so we don’t know our exact placings.” The team also received an academic award of excellence for having an overall team GPA of 3.0 to 3.49; and they received an outstanding community service award, which was only awarded to about 12 teams out of over 200.
