Dre Moody got a steal and a slam dunk with 38 seconds left in overtime to lift the Keokuk High School boys basketball team to a 74-73 victory over Danville on Monday night at Wright Fieldhouse in Keokuk.

With the game tied at 65, Danville held the ball for the last 2 minutes, 5 seconds of regulation, but missed a potential game-winning shot, sending the game into overtime.

Danville again tried to hold the ball in the waning minutes of overtime with the scored knotted at 72. But Moody pilfered a steal and got a dunk to give the Chiefs a two-point lead with 38 seconds left. Danville had a last-second shot to win the game come up short.

Moody led the Chiefs with 18 points, while Eddie Lee added 16 points amnd TyJai Mueller chipped in with 11 points.

Max Wilcox led the Bears with 20 points, while Cody Welch had 17 points, Taylor Kennsett scored 16 points and Ben Oedelwitz contributed 13 points.

Danville (2-2) plays tonight at Cardinal, while Keokuk (1-1) plays Friday at Mount Pleasant. 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Keokuk 60, Danville 40

Keaija Lacy scored a game-high 20 points and all-state senior guard Michaela Davis added 15 points to lead the Chiefs to a non-conference win at Keokuk.

Also for the Chiefs, Michenna Davis scored 11 points, while Macey Hughes and Jakayla Hall each added five points.

Alyssa Pfadenhauer led Danville with 12 points, while Grace Grothe added nine points. Also for the Bears, Alexis Bauer scored six points, while Kate Luers and Lauren Finke each scored four points.

Danville (3-2) plays tonight at Cardinal.

Keokuk (2-0) hosts Mount Pleasant on Friday night.

Wilton 79, Louisa-Muscatine 50

Mariah Pugh scored 12 points. pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked four shots, but the Falcons fell in a non-conference game at Wilton.

Alexa Wehrle scored 11 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed six rebounds for the Falcons, while Kylee Sanders scored 10 points and had three assists. Haley Sanders added seven points and seven rebounds.

Kortney Drake led the Beavers with 18 points, one of four Wilton players to score in double figures.

Louisa-Muscatine (1-3) hosts Highland in an SEI Superconference North Division game on Friday at Letts.

Illini West 49, Camp Point Central-Southeastern 27

Baylee Clampitt nearly outscored the Panthers singlehandedly, tossing in a game-high 25 points to lead the Chargers to a home win at Carthage, Illinois.

Katie Rhodes added 10 points for Illini West, while Hannah Wood chipped in with six points. Kelly Sirtak, Daytona Dooley, Gracie McDowell and Kailee Artman each scored two points for the Chargers.

Illini West hosts Quincy Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

PREP WRESTLING

WB-ND/Danville junior high concludes season

The West Burlington-Notre Dame/Danville junior high wrestling team concluded its season at WACO. The Falcons went 6-2 with six pins on the night and were 38-14 with 23 pins in their seven meets this season. Team members were Parker Davis, Travian Donaldson, Isaiah Fenton, Logan Kamrath and Samuel West. The team was coached by Reggie Hobbs.
