MACOMB, Ill. — Six Leathernecks reached double figures and Western Illinois University shook off Kansas City in the fourth quarter for a 90-71 season-opening women's basketball victory at Western Hall Friday night.

The Leathernecks led just 57-51 at the three-quarter mark, then topped Kansas City 33-20 in the final period.

Emily Clemens led WIU with 21 points. Morgan Blumer scored 15, Taylor HIgginbotham and Olivia Kaufmann each scored 11 and Olivia Braun and Michelle Farrow scored 10 each. Braun and Higginbotham each had eight rebounds.

Kansas City's Kristen Moore led all scorers with 22 points.
