Eight Nevada Middle School students participated in the 23rd Washburn Middle School Statewide Cross Country Race on Sunday, Oct. 14, at Ankeny Centennial High School. Both boys and girls competed in the eighth grade 3A divisions.


The girls who competed are: Elie Tuhn, eighth grade, 10th place with a time of 13:50; Allison Kruzich, seventh grade, 21st place, with a time of 14:56; Saron Mehari, eighth grade, 38th place, with a time of 15:47 and Natalie Barber, seventh grade, 43rd place with a time of 16:12. There were a total of 56 girls in their division.


The boys who competed are: Marcus Nelsen, eighth grade, 43rd place with a time of 13:08; Owen Freeman, seventh grade, 49th place with a time of 13:14; Aidan Freeman, seventh grade, 78th place with a time of 14:01 and Nick Frideres, seventh grade, 85th place with a time of 14:25. There were a total of 104 boys in their division.
