PANORA - The Colo-NESCO girls’ cross country team had one runner place in the top 25 at the Panorama Invitational Sept. 14 at Lake Panorama.


Alexis Britten turned in a 21st-place time for Colo-NESCO in the large girls’ field of 148 runners. Britten completed the 5-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 20 seconds.


Faith Vincent was the second Royal to cross the finish line in the girls’ race. She clocked in at 26:37.


Shelby Smith took 113th in 30:35, Jenna Banks 126th in 33:18 and Emily Brinkman 127th with a 33:25 showing as the other runners to earn points for the Colo-NESCO girls. Emma Stalzer also ran varsity for the Royals, finishing 143rd in 37:18.


As a team, the Colo-NESCO girls came in 14th with 322 points. Panorama won the girls’ team title with 43 points, ACGC took second with 91 and Tri-Center came in third with 96.


ACGC’s Kate Crawford ran a 20:07 as the fastest individual runner in the girls’ race. Panorama’s Ella Waddle was a close second after crossing the finish line in 20:13.


In the boys’ competition, Colo-NESCO took 19th with 559 points. Nodaway Valley won with 43 points, Madrid came in second with 90 and Woodward Academy took third with a score of 117.


Cole Dulaney was the first runner to complete the course for the Colo-NESCO boys. Dulaney ran a 5-kilometer time of 20:57 to place 77th.


Luke Hill took 151st in 23:49, Ryan Wonders 184th in 25:26, Chevy Dunlap 186th in 25:29 and Jacob Reischauer 190th at 25:44 as the other runners to score for the Colo-NESCO boys. Scott Miller came in 228th at 31:03 for the Royals.


Madrid’s Sean McDermott won the boys’ race in 17:09. Nodaway Valley’s Brycen Wallace came in second at 17:20 and Des Moines Christian’s Tyler Ketcham earned third place in 17:31.
