GILBERTVILLE - The Colo-Nesco softball team was unable to slow down a potent Don Bosco attack in a 13-3 loss to the Dons in six innings Friday at Gilbertville.
Don Bosco pounded out 20 hits on the night. The Royals jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but the Dons answered with six runs in the second and fourth in the third.
Colo-Nesco never recovered in falling to 10-9 overall and 9-4 in the Iowa Star Conference.
Chelsea Henze drove in all three Colo-Nesco runs with a home run in the first inning. Mackenna Ruffcorn singled and scored, Rylee Purvis walked and scored, Gracie Kettwig doubled and Megan Carlson singled for the Royals.
Purvis took the loss on the mound. She gave up nine earned runs on 17 hits with two strikeouts and one walk in five innings.
Kassie Robinson allowed two runs on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks in one inning of work.
Kindra Welter was 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI, Brooklynn Shares 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI and Ashley Grapp 2-for-4 with a homer and three runs and RBI apiece for Don Bosco. Kylie McMahon gave up two earned runs with five strikeouts and one walk in six innings as the winning Don pitcher.

MCCALLSBURG - Colo-Nesco had a good evening offensively and on the mound in a 10-0 victory over GMG in five innings June 14 at McCallsburg.
The Royals produced 10 hits. Pitcher Rylee Purvis fired a two-hitter with two strikeouts and two walks to get the victory.
Colo-Nesco scored in all five innings. The Royals put up three runs in the first and fifth frames, two in the fourth and one apiece in the second and third.
Grace Stalzer was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBI and Chelsea Henze went 2-for-2 with two walks, a double and two RBI. Mackenna Ruffcorn doubled, walked and scored twice, doubled, walked, twice and put up one run and RBI apiece and Molly Barten tripled and scored.
Purvis singled and scored, Claire Skinner and Megan Carlson both walked and scored and Gracie Kettwig was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

ELDORA - Colo-Nesco used a great finish to get past South Hardin by a 9-7 score in eight innings June 13 in Eldora.
The Royals rallied from a 6-2 deficit. They plated three runs in the sixth and answered a South Hardin run in the bottom of the inning with two in the top of the seventh.
After blanking the Tigers in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings Colo-Nesco managed to score twice in the top of the eighth. South Hardin was unable to answer to give the Royals a non-conference victory.
Rylee Purvis, Grace Stalzer, Mackenna Ruffcorn and Chelsea Henze all collected three hits for Colo-Nesco in the win. Purvis homered and had two runs and RBI apiece; Stalzer doubled and scored twice; Ruffcorn doubled, tripled, scored and drove in two runs and Henze finished with a double, triple and RBI.
Claire Skinner scored twice and drove in a run and Megan Carlson went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Royals. Kassie Robinson drove in a run and Rylie Rieschauer and Mckenzie Niemeyer both scored once.
Robinson allowed two earned runs on seven hits and seven walks with six strikeouts going all nine innings as the winning pitcher. Holly Talbot gave up five earned runs with seven strikeouts and no walks in eight innings as the losing Tiger pitcher.
Hannah Tripp was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, two walks and two runs and RBI apiece for South Hardin at the plate. Kiera Anderson also went 2-for-3 and she walked twice and scored three times.

TRAER - Colo-Nesco started and ended with a hot stretch in a 14-5 victory over North Tama June 12 in Traer.
The Royals plated seven runs over the first two innings to go out in front. North Tama closed within 9-5 through six innings, but Colo-Nesco pounded out five more runs in the seventh to put the game away.
Colo-Nesco belted an impressive eight doubles in the game. Kassie Robinson, Mackenna Ruffcorn and Chelsea Henze finished with two doubles apiece.
Robinson had one run, walk and RBI apiece; Ruffcorn scored twice and drove in three runs and Henze finished with three runs and RBI apiece. Gracie Kettwig was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI, Megan Carlson doubled and scored, Mckenzie Niemeyer singled and scored three times and Grace Stalzer went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Molly Barten added a single and Rylie Reischauer and Ayvarie Bappe each scored once for the Royals. Ruffcorn was the winning pitcher after going the distance and giving up four earned runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.
Carlie Feisel allowed four earned runs with four strikeouts and three walks in 5 ⅓ innings as the losing Redhawk pitcher. Carissa Calderwood drove in two runs for North Tama.
