Nevada had two players named to the Class 1A all-tournament team at the girls’ state soccer tournament Saturday in Des Moines.

Seniors Abby Stephenson and Kaylee Kruschwitz both landed on the all-tourney team after helping Nevada reach the 1A state semifinals for the sixth year in a row.

Stephenson was named all-tournament for the fourth-consecutive season. She scored Nevada’s only goal in regulation and also converted a penalty kick during the shootout in a 2-1 quarterfinal win over Denver June 8.

Kruschwitz was moved from midfield to sweeper after an injury to Izzy Kapustka in the win over Denver. She performed admirably in the role against the Cyclones, and then again on Friday in a 2-0 semifinal loss to eventual state champion Davenport Assumption.

The other members of the 1A all-tournament team were: Denver’s Johnnie Hill; North Polk’s Joy Smith and Emily Larson; Center Point-Urbana’s Alexa Coller and Adrianna Katcher and Assumption’s Anna Vonderhaar, Bridget Poster and Molly Gervase. Gervase was named the team captain.
