NEVADA - Nevada won six events and placed second as a team at the Nevada Invitational girls’ track meet Monday at Cub Stadium.


The Cub girls won four individual events and added two relay titles, scoring 140 points. West Marshall won the eight-team competition with 181 points and Clarion-Goldfield/Dows was third with 103.


Kacie Rewerts won both the high jump and the 1,500-meter run for Nevada.


Rewerts’ peak jump of 4-10 in the high jump beat the 4-8 efforts by Roland-Story’s Emily Stewart and Rachel Patton. Rewerts won the 1,500 in five minutes, 24.56 seconds — easily topping the 5:42.45 by West Marshall’s Grace Girard for first.


Kaylee Kruse took third in the 1,500 for Nevada with a time of 5:52.55.


Lexy Koudelka took gold in the discus. Her best throw of 110-2 edged the 108-foot toss by Saydel’s Anneliese Barton.


Megan Gilchrist gave Nevada a win in the 3,000. Her time of 13:14.36 was more than seven seconds faster than the runner-up performance by Roland-Story’s Taryn Perry.


Jordan McKinney, Samara Sharp, Emily Plate and Caitlyn Sharp won the sprint medley relay in 1:57.58. ADM came in second at 2:01.61.


The same Cub quartet won the 4 X 100 in :51.95. West Marshall placed second in :52.11.


Kruse, Ryanne Barker, Madison Davis and Meredith Harter gave Nevada a runner-up time of 11:12.18 in the 4 X 800. West Marshall easily won in 10:37.28.


McKinney, Plate and Rewerts teamed with Avery Mather to take second in the distance medley with a 4:33.54 showing. Roland-Story had the fastest time at 4:28.99.


Caitlyn Sharp ran a :28.08 in the 200 to take second behind the :27.41 run by West Marshall’s Allison Hilleman. Mather came in third in the 400 hurdles 1:14.50.

ALLEMAN - Nevada turned in a strong third-place performance at the Comet Invitational May 4 in Alleman as the Cubs won four events and took second in two more.


Lexy Koudelka won both the girls’ shot put and discus events and Kacie Rewerts brought home the 1,500-meter run title for Nevada. The Cubs also took first in the 4 X 100 relay, scoring 108 points to trail only Gilbert (141) and North Polk (125) out of seven teams in the final girls’ standings.


Koudelka peaked with a throw of 34 feet, 10 inches in the shot and her best toss in the discus was 114-10. Saydel’s Annaliese Barton took second in the shot with a 34-4.75 throw and Greene County’s Kenna Marquardt was runner-up in the discus with a throw of 109 feet even.


Rewerts won the 1,500 in five minutes, 20.26 seconds. Gilbert’s Livvy Hampton took second in 5:26.96.


Jordan McKinney, Samara Sharp, Caitlyn Sharp and Emily Plate won the 4 X 100 for Nevada. Their time of :52.20 beat out the 53-second flat time of Greene County for the gold.


McKinney, Plate and Rewerts teamed with Avery Mather to take second in the distance medley. The Cub team clocked in at 4:44.93 to come in behind only Roland-Story’s 4:36.56.


Mather added an individual silver in the 400 hurdles. Mather finished in 1:15.24 and Gilbert’s Haleigh Hadley won in 1:14.25.


Rewerts added a bronze in the high jump with a jump of 5-0 and Mady Farmer was third in the 3,000 with a time of 13:20.82. Caitlyn Sharp won a bronze in the 200 with a time of :28.22.


Kaylee Kruse, Ryanne Barker, Eliana Hornbuckle and Meredith Harter teamed to place third in the 4 X 800 for Nevada with a time of 11:45.09.
