To the editor:

My brother-in-law, Luke Spence, has the most character and strongest work ethic of anyone I’ve ever known. I urge the voters of Nevada, Ward 2, to elect him as their newest member of the City Council.

Luke is a dedicated and loving husband to my sister, Stephanie, and father to their three children. As a commercial airline pilot, he is trusted with the safety of hundreds of passengers every day. Nevada should feel comfort in trusting Luke with whatever issues may arise, whether it’s helping working families or guiding Nevada to a prosperous future.

I am particularly impressed with his commitment to knock on every door in the 2nd Ward each year, both during his campaign and when he is on the council. In my experience working with public officials, this is the most important way for them to hear and address the needs of the people they represent. I have knocked doors with Luke in Nevada in the past. As soon as Luke made that pledge, I knew he would follow through. I was impressed when he achieved this commitment within weeks of the launch of his campaign, and he is now going back for a second round. I know that the people meeting Luke at their doors appreciate the outreach, and have been impressed with Luke’s secure grasp of the issues facing the community, empathetic dedication to helping the people, and intelligent plans for addressing those issues.

Nevada voters can go to “Luke Spence for Ward 2 City Council” on Facebook to learn more about his candidacy and his ideas for Nevada. I cannot urge Nevada voters more strongly to support Luke Spence for City Council.
