Louise Oxenford, 91, born and raised in Boone, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2018, in her home in Redlands, Calif.


She was born to Edgar and Gladys McVicker on Jan. 16, 1927.


Louise was a graduate of Boone High School.


On Oct. 1, 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Roger Oxenford. Louise was a homemaker and worked as an electronics assembler at Hughes Aircraft. She was an active member in the Baptist church in Iowa and California. She used her beautiful voice to serve the Lord by singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and laughing.


Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Gladys McVicker, and her sister, Bernice Lainson.


Louise is survived by her husband of 71 years, Roger Oxenford, and five daughters, Vicki Hibshman and husband Joell of Virginia, Cindy Mellis and husband Gordon of California, Paula Oxenford of California, Laura Eichar and husband David of California, and Patty Oare and husband Chris of Utah.


She has nine grandsons, Roger Hibshman (deceased), Randy Hibshman, Nathan Mellis, Stephen Mellis and wife Clara Campbell, Cameron Eichar, Will Eichar, Brad Eichar, Matt Oare and wife Annie, and Ted Oare.


She also has six great-grandchildren.
