Dorothy M Ball, a longtime resident of Nevada, IA, passed away on June 10th at the Ozark Health Center in Clinton, Arkansas.


Born in 1919 in rural Story County, she married Stanley Ball in 1936 and lived in Nevada until 1979. She retired after 29 years at Rueben H. Donnelley Corp. and moved to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.


Dorothy was active in her church, Fairfield Bay Baptist, and the Ozark Health Auxiliary. She also was an excellent Quilter and crafted many beautiful quilts for family and friends.


Dorothy loved good food and socializing, she enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with friends. Her jovial and optimistic presence was known by all her friends and family.


Preceded in death by her husband Stanley Ball and her second son James Ball. Survived by two sons and their wives, Larry & Betty Ball and Richard & Susan Ball, also many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.


Memorial services will be held June 19th at the Fairfield Bay Baptist Church in Clinton, Arkansas, and interment will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 22nd in the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada, Iowa. Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City, Iowa is assisting the family.
