Aaron Hunt, a native of Nevada, was named to the University of Iowa fall 2013 president’s list. In order to be included, a student must have a minimum 4.0 GPA in all academic subjects for the preceding two semesters, with a total of at least 12 semester hours of credit per semester during that period.

Cassandra Brower, daughter of Tami Banks and Scott Brower of Nevada and Nevada High School’s current homecoming queen, has been selected as a finalist for Iowa’s 34th annual Homecoming Queen selection, held on March 30. The winner will receive a cash scholarship, plus a trip to the national finals to compete against queens from other states. She will also be competing for Iowa’s favorite homecoming queen. Robert Blackburn, McCallsburg; KarrieAnne Burke and Amy Sampson, Nevada; qualified for the fall term dean’s list at Wartburg College by earning a 3.5 GPA or better in at least four course credits for the term.
