Ann Hoover graduated from Drake University’s College of Business and Public Administration on May 18. She graduated magna cum laude (GPA 3.70-3.89) and with departmental honors.

Christian Selby, of Story City, has been named a 2014 Student Sensation by the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences. Selby, who graduated this spring with a degree in athletic training, coaches youth basketball teams, volunteers as a first responder at track and wrestling meets and the Special Olympics, and has taken humanitarian trips to Honduras and the Czech Republic. He also excelled academically, earning the top GPA among all ISU athletic training majors in his graduating class, even as he took academically rigorous classes to prepare for medical school. Selby is the grandson of Nevada residents Bill and Karen Selby.

Addison Bates of Nevada graduated cum laude from St. Olaf College. Bates is an exercise science major and was awarded distinction in exercise science. She is the daughter of Michael and Cherrine Bates.

Anthony Lawson of Colo has been named to the dean’s list for Graceland University’s 2014 spring term. Students with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.64 are named to the dean’s list.

Emily Lytle, McCallsburg, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with cum laude honors (3.50 - 3.70 GPA) from Allen College. The College awarded 141 degrees at its commencement ceremony on Friday, May 9.

Faris Winchester of Nevada was recently named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at Beloit College. Winchester is a First Year.

Kerri McLeod, Nevada, received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Morningside College at the end of the spring 2014 semester.
