An official groundbreaking ceremony was held last Wednesday, April 3, to celebrate the start of construction for the Nevada Public Library expansion. Even though construction started earlier that week, a group of around 25 people came to the library to celebrate the project. Pictured in the front are (front row, from left) Brett Barker City Council; Elizabeth Hansen city administrator; John Haywood assistant library director; Adam Riedell library board vice chair; Michelle Flynn president, Friends of the Library; Rebecca Funke library board chair; Hank Zaletel library board; and Beth Williams director of the library. Also in attendance were several members of the Tope Foundation board. The Tope Foundation was instrumental to making the project happen. Other members of the library board, City Council and community members attended the ceremony.
