• Luther College has announced that Hanah Anderson-Earles and Kaitlyn Cook, both of Nevada, have been accepted for admission for the 2019-20 academic year. Both have been awarded the Founders Scholarship.


• DMACC recently released the names of the Nevada students eligible for the summer semester president’s list. To be eligible, a student must have completed a minimum of six credits and earned a 4.0 grade point average for that semester. Those recognized from your area include: Caitlin Barker, liberal arts; Savannah Fitz, financial administration and Jessica McGaffin, liberal arts.


• DMACC recently released the names of the Nevada students eligible for the summer semester dean’s list. To be eligible, a student must have completed a minimum of six credits and earned a 3.5 to 3.99 grade point average for that semester. Those recognized from your area include: Sarah Hottle, liberal arts; Brandon Mills, criminal justice: law enforcement and Kaylee Potter, early childhood education.


• Grant Kannel, liberal arts, of Nevada graduated following the summer semester from DMACC’s Ankeny, Boone, Carroll, Newton, Urban and West Campuses.


• DMACC students from the Nevada area have received scholarships from the DMACC Foundation for the fall semester. The recipients include Caitlin Barker, business administration, $600 Walter & Lucile Murken Memorial Scholarship; Rebeka Bell, liberal arts, $500 DMACC Employee/Student Scholarship; Michaela Gillespie, nursing associate degree, $500 Eleanor L. Kniker Scholarship; Gillian Tupper, liberal arts, $600 Walter & Lucile Murken Memorial Scholarship; Kennedy Wierson, liberal arts, $400 Walter & Lucile Murken Memorial Scholarship and Alison Willson, administrative assistant, $1400 Ray & Shirley Gumtau Scholarship.
